We, amphibians

"Humans are amphibians - half spirit and half animal. As spirits they belong to the eternal world, but as animals they inhabit time." CS Lewis

"I had seen birth and death but had thought they were different." T.S. Eliot

Perhaps had I been born in different circumstances my faith would not be so strong. I see the same things other people see and where one says that God has made a horrible place and therefore chooses not to believe, I see a beautiful planet with so much to give and we take and destroy. Such is our nature.

What do you want? Those that don't believe typically fight for all freedom of oppression, yet when you tell them that God gave us free will and that we have made our choices then they still blame God.

Even then that is too general a statement. Every person has a reason for belief of non-belief. I cannot explain to another person what I feel or what I know. How do you explain that you know there is a God. That He walked on this Earth. That He made a sacrifice and that millions deny that gift every day?

We are not to judge anyone because who among us is perfect? Not one.

My spirit died and my flesh survived. I grew in spirit and continue to grow, but that flesh pulls me down and its hard not to hate it. So many men have used the image and words of God to bring about corruption and greed. So much hate and anger that people choose to carry around with them.

I want peace. I pray for peace. I pray that everyone is given a choice, who to love, who to marry, what to believe....and I hope they choose correctly.
